A unique and valuable part of one’s cuisine; hand harvested from clay-lined salt ponds in the Guerande region of France. Because of the small amounts of clay that bind to the salt crystals, there is more mineral content to it.  And too, there is more moisture content to it – making the crystals bigger yet soft to the palate. It is definitely not one for your normal salt shaker, but is excellent in a wide-mouthed container, where you can pinch a bit onto your buttered toast and your eggs. Don’t waste it by putting it into food cooking on the stove – this is definitely a well-refined meal condiment to be added at the time of eating it.
